Tuscarawas County Lodging Association issued free weather radios
The Tuscarawas Weather Network in cooperation with the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau distribute free NOAA Weather Radios to area lodging providers
Joe Ebner, forecaster and administrator of the Tuscarawas Weather Network shows Kris Cardani of New Philadelphia’s Hampton Inn how the NOAA Weather Radio works. Weather radios were programmed for Tuscarawas County and offered to members of the Tuscarawas County Lodging Association.
Travelers and visitors to Tuscarawas County that stay overnight in our area hotels can rest knowing they will be safer at night when severe weather threatens.
Members of the Tuscarawas County Lodging Association were given free NOAA Weather Radios yesterday. The radios will be used in Tuscarawas County hotels and sound an alarm when severe thunderstorms or tornadoes threaten the county. Once alarmed, hotel operators can quickly inform guests and and provide safety instructions.
The weather radios were provided by the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau in cooperation with the Tuscarawas Weather Network.
Joe Ebner, forecaster and administrator of TuscWeather.net, was on hand to program the radios, provide instructions and hand them off to area hotel owners.
“Keeping visitors to Tuscarawas County as well as residents safe when severe weather threatens is my primary reason for maintaining and continued involvement with TuscWeather.net. Programming the weather radios and helping owners is simply a service to my community”.
Dee Grossman, executive director of the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau knows that when visitors travel, they know little about our the areas weather conditions. “Keeping our visitors safe by alerting them to potentially hazardous weather conditions is another way we assure them we value their choosing us to visit. And, we hope that is another reason they come back to the county.”
A few weather radios are still available. If you are tourism related business and want a weather radio, you can call the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 330-602-2420 to request a radio.
