After a busy weather weekend, our weather across east-central Ohio settled down overnight as high pressure shifted east pushing the rain and snow showers to the Atlantic Coast. Monday will bring chilly temperatures but plentiful sunshine. We won’t do much better than 43-45 degrees this afternoon.
It will be another frosty night. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight. With very few clouds to help hold in any heat we gain today, nighttime temps will quickly drop off to the upper 20s tonight.
TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
While Tuesday will begin on the chilly side, a warm southerly flow sets up that will bring much warmer air into east-central Ohio. Afternoon temperatures will warm to the low 50s in most neighborhoods under a good deal of sunshine.
Expect a breezy day tomorrow with south winds 10 to 15 mph. Occasional gusts could get to around 25 or so.
Those warm temperatures tomorrow will be short lived, however. A cold front will approach late in the day tomorrow and cross the Tuscarawas Valley Tuesday night and colder air will return to the region for Wednesday.
There is not a lot of moisture with the front but I do think a few light rain showers will certainly be possible just about anywhere in the Valley after sunset Tuesday. Temperatures will cool below freezing behind the front so any of that light rain will change over to snow after around 2:00 am Wednesday.
Overall, precipitation will be light and I do not expect any problems with snow accumulation for the Wednesday morning commute.
This will be a quick-hitter. Any light snow should exit quickly Wednesday morning allowing high pressure to return and take over our weather pattern as we head into Thanksgiving.
Sunshine will break out Wednesday but temperatures will be quite cold. I doubt we do much better than the upper 30s Wednesday afternoon.
THANKSGIVING AND BLACK FRIDAY
We’ll remain dry and mostly sunny Thursday and Friday with high pressure in control. Temperatures on Thanksgiving Day will be chilly despite the sunshine and most neighborhoods should top out at around 40 degrees. Early morning Black Friday shoppers will have a cold start with predawn temperatures in the mid 20s. Those who wait until mid day should have warmer temperatures near the mid 40s.
RAIN AND SNOW SHOWER CHANCES RETURN FOR THE WEEKEND
Our next frontal system will move in late Friday night into Saturday bringing rain showers to the region. As colder air filters in behind the front rain will transition to rain/snow mix, then eventually all snow by Saturday night. Dry conditions with sun/clouds will return on Sunday as drier air returns.
