UPDATED: Getting Info About Dorian

There is a ton of speculation, clutter, and misinformation about Tropical Storm Dorian on social media and even on some cable and network news.

I encourage anyone who has friends, family, or interests in areas that might be affected by Dorian to just trust and follow the National Hurrican Center for frequently updated information. The NHC updates their information every 3 hours: 8:00 AM EDT; 11:00 AM EDT; 2:00 PM EDT; 5:00 PM EDT; etc.

You can find the latest official info on Dorian HERE.

Most of the network and cable news outlets (the good ones, anyway) use the data provided by the Hurricane Center. You may as well get the information you need directly from the source without all the added drama.

Florida Regional NWS Offices is another resource you can rely on for accurate, official hurricane forecasts for specific regions of the state. Follow these websites and Twitter accounts for the latest info and potential impacts:

NOTE: Although these offices all have a Facebook Page as well, because of how Facebook manipulates your news feed, I cannot in good faith recommend using Facebook as a reliable and timely information resource.
