Sunday Morning Winter Storm Update: Slight Adjustments

A large storm system will spread snow into east-central Ohio tonight through Monday. Overnight and early-morning high-resolution model runs have continued with a slight shift to the north with the system which translates to a minor increase in expected snow amounts. However, snow amounts are still within the forecast range as of this morning. We may need to bump them up a notch later this afternoon if this northern trend continues through the day.

The timing of the arrival of snow looks good. We can expect snow to spread into the Valley from the southwest between 9 and 11 pm tonight.

Hi-Res Simulated Radar at 9:00 pm tonight.

The morning guidance continues to keep precipitation from the system in our area as snow. Any sleet and/or freezing rain will stay south of I-70.

Snowfall rates tonight into Monday morning can be moderate to heavy at times so expect enough snow on the ground to impact your Monday morning commute. Snow showers will likely continue through much of Monday and end Monday evening/night as the system progresses to the Atlantic Coast. Occasional snow showers can be expected Tuesday through Thursday.

Again, we’ll mention that snow amounts will increase if the center of low pressure decides to track a little more to the north than this morning’s data suggests. Note that winter weather impacts will increase as you travel south.
