Friday will be a transition day here in the Tuscarawas Valley. After some clouds to start, sunshine will break out for a time this morning, and temperatures will quickly warm to near 60° by lunchtime. A cold front will slide northwest to southeast across the east-central Ohio region early in the afternoon, and colder air will flow into the region, resulting in falling temperatures during the afternoon.

In addition to the colder air moving in, the wind will pick up as well. Wind gusts as high as 35-40 mph will be possible at times this afternoon and evening. Expect temperatures to be much colder (around 30°) as you head out Saturday morning.
Dry conditions are favored on Saturday, along with intermittent sunshine. Temperatures will be chilly with afternoon highs in the low to mid-40s.
SNOW RETURNS ON SUNDAY
Odds of snow showers begin to increase early Sunday morning, and occasional rounds of snow are likely through the day on Sunday. This still continues to look like a low-impact snow event in our area. The bulk of snow showers will occur during the daylight hours on Sunday, and with temperatures in the mid-30s, a lot of it will melt, leaving roads mainly just wet.

Snow will have a higher chance of sticking on the ground Sunday night when temperatures fall to the mid-20s. Treated roads will probably be just fine, but there can be some slick spots Sunday night into Monday morning on any untreated roads.
Some differences in the system’s track could result in minor changes between now and Sunday, but most of the modeling shows an inch or two from this system Saturday night through Monday morning.

As mentioned earlier, some of the snow, especially during the day on Sunday, will melt. Snow overnight Sunday night into Monday morning could stick on untreated and elevated surfaces.

Light snow showers/flurries could linger through Monday morning and pull away from our area Monday afternoon. Monday is likely to be the coldest day of the week with afternoon highs in the low-30s. It will be breezy again on Monday, so wind chills will be a factor. Temperatures will then moderate through the rest of next week.
