The latest on the flooding situation at Stillwater Creek and the Tuscarawas River

Light rain fell over portions of the region over the past 24 hours with amounts ranging from a trace to around a quarter of an inch. No additional precipitation is in the forecast during the next 48 hours. This will give us some time for area creeks and streams to begin to recover.

Levels at Stillwater Creek at Uhrichsville and the Tuscarawas River at New Philadelphia have crested early this afternoon in response to upstream rain. Levels are forecast to begin to recede this afternoon and evening. This trend is likely to continue through the end of the week despite some additional rain expected Thursday and Friday.

No additional flooding is expected except along the Muskingum River in Coshocton.
