Saturday AM: Updated rainfall estimates through Sunday

Rain will overspread east-central Ohio today although most of the rain today will be light, a few pockets of moderate rainfall will be possible as we get into late afternoon/evening. Heavier rainfall is expected tonight through early (pre-dawn) Sunday morning.

SIMULATED FUTURECAST RADAR FROM THE NAM at 4:00 AM EDT. A band of heavier rain may move through east-central Ohio along with gusty wind. A rumble or two of thunder will also be possible. No severe weather is expected.

Gusty wind will accompany this early-morning band of heavier rain and wind advisories may be issued. I do think the strongest winds will set up north of the Valley but we will get into some gusts as high as 25 to 30 mph.

Total rainfall through Sunday morning looks to be around three-quarters to an inch.

The steadiest rain will taper off to scattered showers Sunday morning with decreasing chances for rain as we go through the rest of the morning. Although it will remain breezy, high pressure will start to build in the afternoon bringing an end to showers.
