After a chilly but sunny start to Saturday, clouds and chances for rain will increase this afternoon and evening as low pressure approaches from the south. As colder air flows into the Valley with the system’s cold front later tonight, the rain will mix with and transition to all snow.
TIMING
- Rain showers should begin moving in around or after 4:00 PM
- Rain will begin mixing with snow 1:00 AM/3:00 AM Sunday
- Precipitation will be all wet snow after 3:00 AM/4:00 AM Sunday
- Snow showers exit the area by 7:00/8:00 AM Sunday
LOCAL ACCUMULATION
Snow accumulation will be limited to grassy areas and elevated surfaces to around a half-inch or so in most locations (0″ – 1″). Warm temperatures on the ground should work to keep roads mainly wet.
High pressure will build over the region Sunday allowing for clouds to break and some afternoon sunshine. Dry weather will continue Monday and Tuesday.
