Tropical Storm Bertha came ashore near Charleston, SC this morning. The remnants of the system will weaken as it slowly travels northward tonight and Thursday but the system will spread rain into east-central Ohio over the next 48 hours.
Rain chances will increase locally tonight and rain will be likely on Thursday as the system moves through. Most of the heaviest rainfall will occur south of our area but we will still see rain totals of around a half-inch to one-inch locally through Friday morning.
We can expect to see the heaviest and steadiest rainfall from Bertha here in the Valley during the morning hours tomorrow. As it stands now, flooding should not be an issue locally but we will continue to monitor the situations as it unfolds.
