Showers and thunderstorms are likely today as a strong cold front approaches the region. Some storms could be severe and could be capable of producing damaging wind gusts. Although the risk is low, an isolated tornado is also possible with these storms.

Storms today could also produce heavy downpours and small hail.
LOCAL TIMING
The exact timing is a bit hard to pin down, though it appears most likely to occur mid-to-late morning across east-central Ohio. Strong wind gusts will be possible outside of any thunderstorms through most of the day.
Temperatures locally will turn colder tonight and Monday behind the front. A few snowflakes can’t be ruled out late tonight and early Monday morning. No accumulation is expected in our area. Winds will remain gusty into the evening and then relax overnight.
Dry weather and a clearing trend are expected on Monday as high pressure builds into the region. Daytime high on Monday will run close to or a few ticks below average. Temperatures will return to the low to mid-60s on Tuesday under mostly sunny conditions.
