The widespread batch of showers this Friday morning should decrease and become more spotty this afternoon before exiting east of the region. We can then expect dry conditions overnight as Canadian high pressure spreads southward from the Great Lakes. Some patchy fog will be possible after 2 AM.

If you’re planning on attending the big event on Saturday, you shouldn’t have any problems with the weather. High pressure will keep the rain away on Saturday, and temperatures will run pretty much where you would expect them to be for mid-August.
High clouds will begin to increase through the afternoon, and chances for showers and thunderstorms will gradually increase Saturday evening and become likely overnight as a warm front approaches the region.
As we advance, there are differences in the models regarding how Sunday may play out. However, it is pretty much a given that we here in the Tuscarawas Valley area will remain firmly in the warm sector behind the warm front on Sunday. Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 80s across the area. And it’ll be very humid Sunday afternoon.
An approaching cold front late in the day on Saturday will raise the prospects for severe thunderstorms Saturday night into Sunday morning. While the odds of severe storms Saturday night will be higher in areas to our south, a strong gusty storm can’t be ruled out here.
We’ll have an update either late Friday or early Saturday as this comes into the range of the high-resolution models. But for now, a rowdy thunderstorm or two is a possibility at some point late Saturday and Saturday night.
If you’re staying for the drone show Saturday night at the fairgrounds, monitor the forecast going forward. There are uncertainties in the forecast yet regarding the potential for strong storms in the area.
