Damaging Wind Gusts Possible on Saturday

A warm front crossing the region early Saturday will push daytime highs into the mid-to-low 60s by Saturday afternoon. It will also become quite breezy on Saturday, especially during the afternoon, when some gusts out of the southwest could reach 25 to 30 mph at times.

With a cold front approaching the region from the northwest, some of the stronger winds aloft could mix down to the surface in any showers that may develop. Instability is likely to be limited, but there just may be enough to result in a few isolated thunderstorms.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has all of the east-central Ohio region highlighted for a Marginal Risk (Level 1 on a scale of 1-5) of severe weather tomorrow afternoon and evening, mainly for the potential of damaging wind gusts.

Confidence is fairly low for thunderstorm development, but winds will remain fairly gusty on Saturday regardless.
