Severe Thunderstorm WATCH issued for our area until 9:00 PM

The NWSSPC has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area effective until 9:00 PM this Tuesday evening.

In our area, this includes Tuscarawas, Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum, Noble, Stark, and Wayne counties.

A WATCH means that weather conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms. Thunderstorms have developed in northwest Ohio this afternoon. These are expected to travel southeastward into east-central Ohio later this afternoon.

Current weather conditions support strong thunderstorms capable of producing strong gusty winds and large hail. The threat of tornadoes is very low, but not zero.

Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage and intensity. Storm intensity should diminish after sunset and exit southeast of the region by midnight or shortly after.
