As we expected, temperatures this morning took a noticeable hit behind last night’s front. Lows this morning around the Valley are considerably colder. There are still a few areas of light rain showers mostly off to the northeast this morning. These wrap around showers will continue to pull farther northeast today as the storm system that brought active weather to the area last evening continues to pull away.
Temperatures today will not warm much more than the mid to upper 40s and it will be cloudy for a good part of the day. We should start to see clouds thin by mid-afternoon and some clearing late in the afternoon. The good news is that this will be the coolest day of the week and possibly the coldest until autumn.
We’ll remain dry but chilly tonight with temperatures dipping to the mid-30s before sunrise tomorrow.
TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
Tuesday could bring a mixed bag of sunshine along with slight chances for a spotty shower as a warm front lifts into northern Ohio and then stalls. With meager amounts of moisture to work with, odds for raindrops look fairly low.
The front will bring much warmer temperatures to the Valley, though. We will warm to the mid-60s Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will continue to warm through the midweek period into the low 70s by Wednesday. That pesky warm front lingering to the north will keep a low threat for a spotty shower going through the period.
THURSDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND
Low pressure out of the Plains will lift through the Great Lakes region. That will finally push the stalled warm front north. Temperatures across the Valley will warm to the upper-70s – 80° is not out of the question especially in our southern communities.
Odds for showers and perhaps even some thunder return late day Thursday as a cold front approaches for a Thursday night crossing.
Odds for showers and thunderstorms will continue Friday and Saturday. Easter Sunday looks like the best day of the weekend. Although a shower will be possible, we have decent odds that a mix of sun and clouds will prevail. Temperatures should be around 60°.
