NWS will take a closer look at storm damage in Tuscarawas County today

A survey team from the National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh will have a team in Tuscarawas County on Tuesday. The team will take a closer look at storm damage – particularly in Gnadenhutten and on SR-39 near Gasser Road where a 103-year-old barn was destroyed. Other locations may also be looked at.

The team will be looking at the type of damage to try and determine if it were caused by straight-line wind or a tornado.

Two tornadoes have been confirmed in Ohio with Sunday’s severe weather – An EF-2 tornado in Shelby, Ohio (Richland County) and an EF-0 tornado near Springfield, Ohio (Clark County).

Results of the survey teams’ findings will be posted here later today.
