Thursday’s Local Rain/Storm Odds

A cold front will slip south of Lake Erie on Thursday where it will stall out for a while. As a result, tomorrow has been trending wetter and cooler in today’s model runs.

Showers and thunderstorms look to develop Thursday morning and spread southward through the afternoon. Light rain showers will be common by mid-morning. As temperatures warm in the afternoon, a thunderstorm or rumbles of thunder will become possible.

There is also a low-end threat for a strong gusty thunderstorm, especially in our southernmost communities. Some cells will be capable of heavy rainfall as well.

With the rain and the amount of cloud cover showing up on the models, temperatures will also be a bit cooler than originally expected with highs in the upper 70s.

Rain chances will diminish Thursday night north to south as the cold front clears the region and drier air moves in overhead. Sunshine will gradually return Friday and it will be a much less humid day.
