November Climate Wrapup and a Look at December

November 2019 in the Valley was cold. Much colder than average and the coldest November on record in recent years – and the 5th coldest on record. (THE coldest – November 1976 at 34.1°) Temperatures in the Valley were colder than average for 23 days of the month. Only 5 days were warmer than average.

The past month was also drier than normal locally.

DECEMBER OUTLOOK
While December is off to a chilly start locally, the NWS Climate Prediction Center December Outlook indicates that temperatures will be warmer than average temperatures overall for the month.

There is no clear signal on whether precipitation will be heavier or lighter for the month.
