HIGHLIGHTS
The threat of organized severe thunderstorms in our area is decreasing.
As I suspected, the SPC has trimmed the Slight Risk area southward in their early afternoon update. While that does not mean a strong/severe thunderstorm is out of the question, it does lessen our odds for any widespread severe thunderstorms locally later today.
The latest guidance suggests that scattered thunderstorms are still possible late this afternoon and this evening with isolated severe storms possible. Any of the stronger storms can produce damaging wind gusts and hail. The better odds for organized severe storms will be along and south of I-70.
There is also a lot of moisture available. Any storms, severe or not, could bring a downpour.
Excellent follow-up! Thanks!
