Widespread rain showers will arrive tonight as low pressure drags a couple of frontal systems across eastern Ohio. Chances for rain will increase in the Valley this evening with rain becoming likely overnight tonight. Once it arrives tonight, the rain showers will likely continue through mid-day Sunday before tapering off in the evening. Rain will exit the area Sunday night.
A few isolated thunderstorms will also be possible – mainly on Sunday. Cloud cover and limited upper-level support will mitigate the potential for severe thunderstorms. However, there is a potential for brief heavy downpours.
Rainfall estimates range from about a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch locally. Any neighborhood finding itself under one of those downpours could end up with more.
The majority of rain locally will fall late tonight through Sunday morning. Rain chances will diminish during the afternoon and evening as a cold front exits to the east. Cooler and much-less humid air will slide into the east-central Ohio region for Monday.
