High cirrus clouds will bring filtered sunshine to the Valley this morning. Otherwise, we can expect fair weather to dominate the area as high pressure travels east into New England. Cloud cover will increase tonight as a warm front approaches east-central Ohio and we’ll likely see a light rain shower locally after midnight.
Temperatures today will fare a little higher than yesterday with most neighborhoods seeing afternoon highs in the mid-40s. Temperatures won’t cool off much more than a handful of degrees overnight behind that warm front.
Odds for light rain will stick around through Saturday morning but high pressure will scoot quickly eastward across the region allowing for clearing skies in the afternoon. Temperatures on Saturday will warm to the mid-50s under a mix of sun and clouds. A second warm front lifts north through the region Saturday night returning chances for rain showers to the Valley mainly through Sunday morning.
Current modeling suggests that Sunday afternoon stays mainly dry as low pressure crossing the Great Lakes drags a cold front across the region Saturday night. There does not appear to be a lot of moisture with the cold front but light showers can’t be completely ruled out. Winds will pick up on Sunday as the front approaches.
Mild temperatures in the upper-50s return to the Valley through Sunday will cool to the mid-30s Sunday night behind the cold front.
EARLY NEXT WEEK
High pressure returns Sunday night building over the region through Monday. Fair weather returns and continues through Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to hover around average or slightly above average Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday brings a more southerly flow and temperatures locally will warm to around 50° in response.
Odds for rain showers increase Wednesday night into Thursday as the next storm system to impact the area approaches from the south and moves into the Ohio River Valley.
