The Storm Prediction Center has introduced a Marginal Risk (1 on a scale of 1-5) of strong to severe thunderstorms in our area mainly during late afternoon and this evening. Damaging wind gusts are possible in these thunderstorms. Small hail is also possible.
Breaks in the cloud cover has resulted in an increase of instability which may help make thunderstorms stronger than previously thought. Current hi-res guidance suggests the strongest thunderstorms will move in after 7:00 PM this evening, or just after sunset,
Stay weather aware this afternoon and especially this evening. I’ll keep you updated should conditions change as we go through the day. Be safe out there.
