Hot and Humid Conditions Are Expected Early Next Week

Thunderstorms will be possible on Friday with a cold front moving through eastern Ohio. There is a low-end chance that a few storms could be strong to severe. Damaging straight-line wind is the primary risk but some of the taller storms could also produce hail.

There is high confidence that temperatures and humidity will increase and remain elevated through several days early next week. Locally we can expect temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with dew points in the upper 60s to around 70° during the afternoon and early evening hours Monday through Wednesday of next week.

The combination of heat and humidity will raise heat index values to the upper 90s to low-humdreds range through Wednesday.

A “Heat Wave” is generally considered to be 3 or more consecutive days where temperatures reach 90° or higher.
