Thunderstorms will increase in coverage this afternoon as a cold front crosses southeast through east-central Ohio. Some storms can be severe, with damaging wind gusts being the primary threat. An isolated tornado can’t be completely ruled out. The risk of thunderstorms will diminish this evening as the front exits east of the region.
LOCAL TIMING
Scattered thunderstorms are most likely to develop after 12:00 pm this afternoon. While ANY storm this afternoon will have a potential to produce strong wind gusts, the highest chances of severe thunderstorms in our area will be between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm (Based on a New Philadelphia location).

A second cold front moving through the region on Wednesday could bring another potential of strong/severe storms to the area. Look for additional details on the mid-week cold front and potential severe weather in future updates.
