A low pressure system will advance from south to north into the Ohio River Valley Saturday morning. It is becoming more likely that the system will bring a period of freezing rain to areas along and north of I-70 in eastern Ohio late Saturday afternoon into early evening.
Most of the daytime hours on Saturday will be just fine. This next system won’t move in until late in the afternoon.

Unlike the freezing rain event we saw on Wednesday, this one should move through the region fairly quickly. Current model projections indicate the total ice accumulation should be similar to Wednesday’s ice – 0.01″ – 0.02″. This isn’t a lot but it is enough to make for slick spots on untreated roads and walkways.
At this point, the probability of at least 0.01″ of ice accretion in our area is 70%. With tomorrow’s update, we’ll have a better idea of ice amounts locally.

There are a couple of more storms in the making for next week. These storms-in-waiting may produce some accumulating snow or mixed rain/snow events. Winter is not over yet.
