A strong low pressure system will impact the region this weekend, bringing gusty wind and a low-end potential of severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening. Straight-line damaging wind will be the main hazard.
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has the vast majority of Ohio painted in a Level 2 (Slight Risk) of severe thunderstorms on Saturday, with the primary threat coming from the potential for damaging straight-line wind gusts. [EDIT: As of the Friday afternoon SPC update the risk level has been downgraded to a Level 1 Marginal Risk as shown below. The risk of tornadoes and hail was also removed in our area with the afternoon update.]
Heavy rainfall is also a possibility in any of the stronger thunderstorms.

The timing for our area remains from the mid-afternoon through the evening hours. There can be a noisy thunderstorm Saturday morning around sunrise but these are expected to be non-severe.
Regardless of whether storms develop or not, southerly winds will begin to pick up overnight tonight and continue through Sunday. Gusts through the weekend can run in the 25 to 35 mph range. Winds could be higher in any thunderstorms. Wind gusts will diminish after a cold front crosses the region late in the day on Sunday.
SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY
The threat of severe weather and thunderstorms in general will end Saturday night, with rain chances continuing through much of Sunday. Thunderstorms are not likely. A cold front crosses the area late in the afternoon or early evening on Sunday. Cooler and drier air will bring a swift end to any rain. Cooler temperatures closer to normal and dry weather returns Sunday night and Monday.
The cooler temperatures will be brief, however. Daytime highs warm back to the mid-60s on Tuesday.

U were right joe they downgraded the threat to marginal and the hail and tornado threat is zero
Yep. They sure did. I guess I should have waited a bit longer to post. Thanks, Jon.
