Warm and dry weather will continue across the Tuscarawas Valley today and tonight. An approaching cold front on Thursday will increase the chances of showers and thunderstorms across the east-central Ohio region on Thursday.
There is a low-end risk that a few thunderstorms could be strong to severe on Thursday afternoon and evening. Damaging wind is the main threat.
Thr cold front is expected to stall near the east-central Ohio region Thursday night. Showers and thunderstorms will remain a possibility Thursday night into early Friday, although these are not likely to be severe.
Expect shower and thunderstorm coverage to increase once again Friday afternoon. Some storms Friday afternoon and evening could also bring damaging winds, although the odds will be lower than they are on Thursday.
In addition, locally heavy rainfall is also possible at times Thursday through Saturday morning as several rounds of showers and thunderstorms travel across the region. This could bring localized flooding issues in some locations.
The front responsible for all of this activity will finally push east and out of the region Saturday afternoon/evening, bringing an end to showers and storms. Dry weather is expected to return on Sunday.
