Skies are gloomy as I put this together, but the thick layer of clouds overhead should start to thin some later in the day as high pressure begins to build into the region. The high will lead into a fair weather day on Friday with daytime temperatures in the mid-80s and lower humidity.
Many area high schools start their football season on Friday evening. The weather around the Tuscarawas Valley area looks to cooperate for our local home games.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
Saturday is shaping up to be a decent day. Clouds will increase during the afternoon as a cold front approaches. A few scattered showers may accompany the front as it moves through Saturday night. Temperature-wise, it will be a warm one and very likely to be the warmest day we see for a while.
A lingering shower can’t be ruled out early Sunday, but generally we should start to see improving weather behind that cold front. Dew points will also slide downhill through the day, making for a very pleasant evening. Temperatures on Sunday will peak in the low-80s for the high.
NEXT WEEK
Computer modeling continues to remain bullish on a dramatic shift in our weather pattern for much of next week. A cooler and drier Canadian airmass will flow southward to bring a fall-like string of days to the Valley. Daytime highs will likely run in the low to mid-70s. Low temperatures may dip to the upper-40s overnight in some locations.
Humidity levels will be a non-issue as well. That cooler and drier air will push dewpoints below 50° and into the upper 40s. As of now, conditions appear mainly dry through mid-week at least. I’m guessing there are more than a few folks looking forward to this little taste of fall.
