A strong cold front will cross the east-central Ohio region today, accompanied by rain showers. Temperatures in the low-50s this morning will plummet to around 40° by sunset this evening.
Temperatures will remain cold enough to support occasional snow showers and flurries on Thursday and Friday. The heaviest snow amounts will occur in the primary snow belt counties well to our north.

Snow accumulation in our area won’t be much – less than an inch. The highest odds of accumulating snow will be in those communities along and north of New Phila.
In addition to snow, winds will turn gusty today and remain gusty through Friday as well. Wind chill values will drop into the teens overnight tonight into Thanksgiving morning. Expect daytime wind chills in the low-20s on Thanksgiving Day. Wind chiils in the low-teens are likely again on Friday morning.

The wind will be strongest on Wednesday and Thursday with some gusts in the 25 – 35 mph range.
SATURDAY – EARLY NEXT WEEK
We will get a break in the weather on Saturday, but another cold front is shaping up to cross the region on Sunday. Details are very uncertain at this time, but there is a potential for freezing rain on Sunday night or early Monday. The models will work out the timing and details as we get deeper into the weekend. I’ll post info here as those details start coming into focus.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
