Confidence continues to trend upward with regards to remnants of what is now Tropical Storm Isaias bringing rain and breezy conditions to the east-central Ohio region over the weekend.
Updated 5:00 PM Weds 10/07/2026 | The latest forecast guidance indicates Isaias will quickly strengthen into a hurricane early Thursday morning before turning north and making landfall along the Gulf Coast late Friday night or very early Saturday morning.

The storm will then continue a northward track inland before arriving as a post tropical system in our vicinity on Sunday. The main impact in our area from what is left of Isaias will be rain and breezy conditions Sunday and Monday.
While there are differences in modeling the exact path Isaias at this early stage, widespread rainfall is becoming a fairly good probability on Sunday. Amounts locally may run in the one-half to one-inch range before the system pulls out on Monday. A slower system could bump rain amounts up some, but the recent dry we’ve been under should keep the flash flood potential low in our area.

The good news is we’re not looking at anything severe from this. Temperatures should remain fairly warm, however, and it’ll be somewhat humid and breezy with gusts in the 20 to 30 mph range.

There will likely be changes to Sunday’s forecast going forward as Isaias continues to develop and mature over the coming days. We’ll continue to keep you updated with the latest on what we might expect from the system in our local area, but for now, Sunday looks like a wet and breezy day.
