Saturday AM Update: Severe Thunderstorms Are Possible in Our Area Today

Temperatures will warm to the mid-70s today ahead of a cold front that’s on track to travel across east-central Ohio this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are likely ahead and along the front as it moves through our area.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has maintained a Level 2 – Slight Risk – for severe thunderstorms in our area today.

Some storms later today could produce strong, straight-line damaging wind gusts (Main Hazard). There is a lesser (10% probability) but non-zero risk of an isolated tornado and/or hail.

LOCAL TIMING
Storms are expected to develop in western Ohio this morning and move east into our area by mid-afternoon. Remain weather aware today, mainly between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Simulated Radar (HRRR model).

South winds can be gusty today outside of any thunderstorms with gusts in the 25-35 mph range.
