Severe Weather looking more likely on Tuesday

Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will get underway tonight. The latest update from the Storm Prediction Center has upgraded all of east-central Ohio – including Tuscarawas County – from a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) to a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms on Tuesday.

Showers and possible thunderstorms will likely move into our area late tonight into early Tuesday morning. The latest modeling is unclear on whether early morning thunderstorms develop and become severe. Should these storms develop, the primary threats would be large hail and heavy rainfall.

Thunderstorms may again form Tuesday afternoon. These can also become strong enough to meet severe criteria. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats Tuesday afternoon and evening. However, the Storm Prediction Center also mentions that isolated tornadoes will be possible as well.

Remain weather aware tonight and Tuesday. Have more than one way to receive updates and warnings should severe weather develop in our area.
