As expected, folks around the Valley woke to snow this morning. By the reports submitted to NWS Pittsburgh amounts on the ground are pretty much in line with the forecast. The range of snow reported so far ranges from about 1.5″ to 2.5″. I will try to put those reports together later in the morning.
Snow accumulation is much heavier as you travel into northern parts of the state so allow for that if you have plans to drive north today. Check ODOT’s OHGO.com for updated road conditions and traffic delays before you venture out.
The rest of the day should feature mainly light snowfall. I can’t rule out a band or two of heavier snowfall due to lake enhancement for those neighborhoods in the northern half of the Valley.
[I’ve tried to upload a simulated radar image for today but of course, I have Internet issues this morning. Ahh! 4th try is a charm!]
Generally speaking, expect an additional 1″ to 2″ of snow through the day today. Those spots that happen to get into squall action could end up with a bit more. Expect the winds to pick up to around 10 to 15 mph today as well.
Thanks for the updates Joe you rock
Thanks, Cheryl. Glad I could help.
Thanks for the update, Joe! We may have dodged a heavy load this time 😃
Yes. We lucked out, Jeff. We were never going to get dumped on. Most of the heavier stuff was slated for northern Ohio anyway.
