I promised to keep you updated so here is the latest severe weather info…
The Storm Prediction Center has lowered the overall risk slightly in our area with their early afternoon update. The overall risk for our area is now at Level 3 – a slight downgrade from the earlier Level 4.

The slight downgrade is due primarily to the fact that the threat of tornadoes in our area is a little less with the newest data. The risk for tornadoes is still significantly higher than zero, however. And, our area still includes the risk for strong (EF2 or higher) and long-track tornadoes. (Indicated by the ‘hatched’ areas)

The risk of damaging straight-line wind and large hail remains elevated in our area with this latest update.

The overall risk for severe may be slightly less, but it’s not exactly going away. There is still a substantial risk of severe storms later this afternoon and early this evening. Stay weather aware.
