Initial Weekend Outlook: Not Exactly Stellar

While it is a little too soon yet to get into the specifics, confidence that the weather will impact our area over the weekend is running fairly high.

Another winter storm system will likely track out of the Mississippi Valley on Saturday and make its way into the upper Ohio Valley on Sunday. The system will spread precipitation into the region by late Friday night. Precipitation of some variety is likely to continue through Sunday.

As of early Wednesday afternoon, it looks like most of the precipitation will occur as just cold rain. There will be periods of rain/snow mix. All precipitation will change over to snow on Sunday as the system exits and pushes a cold front through the region.

Temperatures will be much colder Sunday night through the end of next week.
