Low-End Risk of Severe Storms Late Tuesday Evening – Tuscarawas Valley Weather

A weak cold front will travel through the east-central Ohio region Tuesday night into early Thursday. While showers and a thunderstorm are possible earlier in the afternoon and evening on Tuesday, a window for severe thunderstorms will open late Wednesday evening.

The threat of severe thunderstorms late Tuesday will be higher in northern Ohio counties, but a few of the stronger storms could extend into our area. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in a Level 1, Marginal Risk to reflect the low-end risk.

The primary threat is a potential for large hail, but storms will be capable of producing strong wind gusts and isolated tornadoes.

There is high confidence that weather conditions will be favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop. However, confidence in thunderstorms actually developing in this environment is much lower.

Note: Model disagreement currently exists on timing and coverage. Expect some forecast changes going forward.
