The bulk of the daytime hours should be pretty much uneventful today, although it will turn breezy at times. Temperatures across the Valley will warm to the mid to upper-70s this afternoon.
A slow-moving cold front will approach the east-central Ohio region from the north later this evening with showers and thunderstorms developing ahead of it. These will drift southward late this evening and tonight. Some storms late this evening and tonight could be strong to severe. Damaging straight-line wind is the primary concern, but some hail and even an isolated tornado will be possible as well.
The Storm Prediction Center has bumped our area up to a Level 2, Slight Risk for severe weather late in the day.

While a gusty thunderstorm is possible earlier in the evening, the highest odds of severe storms occurring in our area still appear to be from around 9 PM to around 2 AM. The potential for showers and non-severe thunderstorms will continue overnight and into Wednesday morning.

RAINFALL
Rain amounts overnight, and Wednesday are expected to be heaviest in northern Ohio counties. However, periods of heavy rainfall in and around our area will still be possible. Expect additional rises in area rivers and streams over the next few days.

WEDNESDAY
As mentioned earlier, this is a slow-moving cold front. It will take the better part of the night to complete its passage through our area. Depending on how late in the morning the front actually crosses the area, another round of gusty thunderstorms and heavy rainfall may develop.
Currently, uncertainty in the timing of the front moving through the region. A Level 1, Marginal Risk of strong thunderstorms has been hoisted for Wednesday morning. Hopefully, the timing issues will get worked out with the next few model cycles.

WEDNESDAY – FRIDAY
The cold front is likely to drift back northward as a warm front on Thursday and will likely stall somewhere in the vicinity over the next few days. This will bring temperatures around 80° to the region on Thursday. It will also provide the focus for several rounds of rain and storms in the area through the end of the week.
