After a cold winter in the Tuscarawas Valley, we turned things around in March with temperatures running some 8 degrees above normal for the month. It was also much wetter than normal with total precipitation just over two inches above normal.
Here are the local numbers for March ’26:

The April outlook from the Climate Prediction Center calls for the warmth to continue into April. Temperatures are slightly favored to be warmer than average for the month.

The CPC also slightly favors above normal precipitation for the month.

We usually see our first 80-degree day of the season during the month of April. We’ll have a couple of opportunities to reach a daytime of 80° on Wednesday and Saturday here in the Valley. If that does indeed play out, it would occur a couple of weeks earlier than average.

Warmer than average in April…keep it coming, Joe!
