Cooling Centers are Open in Tuscarawas County

The Tuscarawas County Emergency Management Agency has established cooling centers for folks who may need a place to get a break from the heat. If you know someone who might find this useful, please feel free to share or otherwise make them aware.

The Tuscarawas County Health Department is also available as a cooling center from 9 am to 4 pm Tues-Thurs of this week, June 30-July 2. We have water bottles and guest WIFI available. The public is welcome to cool off in our newly updated air-conditioned space. TCHD, 897 E. Iron Ave, Dover.

The Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau also tells us that they have free bottled water available at the Visitors Center in New Phila to anyone who needs it. The CVB Visitors Center is located at 124 E High Avenue in New Philadelphia.

  1. Just a lil info. The day I got married, September 5, 2018…I know heat index at 1pm was at least 105…because we had to set up outside. & went in the a/c at least every 30 min. Don’t know what actual temp was.
