Showers and Storms Today May Contain Heavy Downpours, Gusty Wind | 7/16/2025

Several rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to move through the Tuscarawas Valley area this afternoon and continue into the evening.

With the very humid airmass firmly in place over the region, the main hazard associated with today’s storms will be the potential for heavy downpours. The storms today will also be slow-movers, so any storms over your location could dump enough rain to cause flooding issues.

Simulated model radar through 1:00 AM Thursday

In addition to the heavy rainfall potential, a few storms could also bring strong gusty winds. The Storm Prediction Center has all of Ohio in a low-end risk (Level 1) of severe weather due to the strong wind potential. Showers and storms will shift east and taper off toward midnight.

Otherwise, expect a warm and very humid airmass today, with dewpoints hovering in the low 70s and temperatures in the mid-80s.

After a mainly dry start to Thursday, chances for another round of showers and thunderstorms will return in the afternoon. Warm and very humid conditions will continue.
