Tuscarawas Valley Weekend Outlook

High pressure has settled overhead and will continue to be the main influence over our weather pattern to wrap up the month of May and meteorological spring. After such an extended period of rain and generally gloomy weather, the sunshine and seasonal temperatures will be a welcome relief for many here in the Tuscarawas Valley.

The really good news is that it looks like we’re finally done with the rain for this month. With all the wet weekends we’ve had this spring, it’s really nice to forecast such gorgeous weather for our upcoming weekend.

The only bump in the forecast for the next several days will be a cold front that will slide south through east-central Ohio late Friday. Most folks won’t even notice. There will be no rain or even much in the way of clouds as this thing moves through. The only noticeable impact will be slightly cooler temperatures on Saturday.

Temperatures will recover nicely on Sunday, warming into the mid- to upper 70s under another bright day.

AFTER THE WEEKEND
The dry weather over the weekend is likely to continue for much of next week. The next remote chance of rain may not arrive until late next week. Some of the longer-range models do show a couple of disturbances in the Thursday/Friday range. Even then, the odds for a shower in any one location are still fairly low this far out.

As for temperatures, the Climate Prediction Center suggests temperatures should run near or slightly warmer than average in the first week of the month. Average temperatures in our local area run in the 77°-79° range during the first week of June.

Thanks for checking out a local take on our weather. Have a great weekend!
