An upper-level ridge of high pressure will begin to build into the area beginning on Memorial Day, which will foster dry weather conditions through mid-week. Clouds will gradually decrease through Monday, becoming mostly sunny later this evening.
Temperatures today should run in the mid-70s on Monday, then warm to the low-80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Our only chance of rain this week will set up on Wednesday as a trough of weak low pressure drifts southward, accompanied by a cold front. This may support a low-end chance for a few showers and perhaps some thunder as well. Currently, we’ll maintain a low chance (20% – 30%) of rain with this feature on Wednesday, with a small risk of afternoon thunder.

High pressure to our north will build back on Thursday, setting up another round of fair weather and a mainly zonal upper-level flow (west-to-east wind direction). Temperatures will cool slightly behind the front, settling into near-average values to finish out the week.
SPRING 2026 PRECIPITATION
Most area residents would agree that it’s been a very wet spring this year. So far this season, we’ve received well above-normal rainfall. But, it’s not record-breaking – in our local area, anyway.
As of yesterday (Sunday, 5/24), we’ve chalked up 12.47 inches of rain since March first. That’s 1.87 inches higher than our normal of 10.6 inches. If spring were to end at this point, this year would rank in eighth place among the wettest springs.

Notice that there are two days at the end of May where the data is missing. (I assume there was some sort of problem with the rain catcher at the airport on the 22nd and 23rd?) So, May’s total precipitation is most likely to actually be slightly higher.
Thanks for taking a few minutes to catch up with our local weather. Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!

Happy to see warmer temperatures & less rain in the forecast for a change! Thanks for the update!
