Category 3 Hurricane Dorian is hammering the Carolina coast this morning and by the posts on social media, many are wondering if we will see any effects from the storm locally.
Dorian is not only a strong hurricane, but it’s also big too. This morning’s satellite image shows clouds associated with Dorian stretching all the way to near the West Virginia/Ohio border just to our southeast.
Other than some high clouds streaming in overhead, we will have no weather impacts from Dorian here in the Valley. The current official National Hurricane Center forecast tracks the hurricane east of the coast by Friday morning.
We will actually enjoy some spectacular fall weather for the next several days. High pressure will keep plenty of sunshine overhead. Daytime highs will be in the mid-70s and nighttime lows in the mid-50s.
