An upper-level disturbance will travel across central Ohio on Sunday. With warm temperatures, increasing moisture, and borderline instability in place, a thunderstorm or two capable of producing strong wind gusts will be possible late in the day.

The latest high-resolution model runs depict a cluster of thunderstorms developing in western Ohio. These are expected to weaken as they continue into central Ohio later this afternoon. This is a pretty low-end threat for our area. The best opportunity for a strong storm in our area is between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM this evening.
A slightly better chance of a strong gusty thunderstorm will enter the east-central Ohio region on Monday as another in a series of disturbances moves through. Again, there is a small chance of damaging wind gusts on Monday afternoon and evening with this feature.

Storms on Monday may also contain heavy downpours, but they should move through the region quickly, which will limit the potential for flash flooding.
The good news is that most communities in the area should receive much-needed rain through this week. Most models suggest rain amounts in the 1″ to 2″ range are likely in our area over the course of the week, with periodic showers and thunderstorm chances each day.
