Gusty wind and dry conditions are expected through the remainder of the day. Fair weather is then expected to continue until the next system arrives late Saturday.
The last 24 to 36 hours have certainly brought some anxiety. Thankfully our weather has not added to what are already challenging times. And, I don’t expect any weather issues locally over the course of the next week.
Drier air will take hold as high pressure builds over east-central Ohio today behind an exiting cold front. Skies will gradually improve through the day becoming mostly sunny by the afternoon. It will remain breezy at times with gusty west to northwest winds. Temperatures will cool some during the morning before we trend upwards under sunshine in the afternoon. Generally, highs locally today should get to 50° or so.
Dry conditions will continue tonight and Saturday. A system will brush our area Saturday night but current modeling keeps the bulk of precipitation associated with this south of the area. However, some rain and maybe even a few snowflakes could still find their way into the Valley. Any snow locally would bring nothing more than a coating on hard surfaces, though.
High pressure will quickly build from the north on Sunday to bring us some nice weather through Monday. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday will seem chilly since we’ve been stuck in a mild weather pattern lately, but in reality, they will be just about average for mid-March.
Dry weather will continue as temperatures warm back up to the 50s Monday and Tuesday. The next system will bring chances for rain back to the Valley Tuesday night.
Have a great weekend. Be safe. Be careful.
