A weak wave of low pressure will clip the region tonight bringing a chance of light snow accumulation to the Tuscarawas Valley early Tuesday morning. Although there are some model differences in the track of the wave, current model solutions indicate that any snow accumulation in our area will be minor.

Keep in mind, though, that small variations in the track of the system can influence snow amounts. Arctic air is firmly in place over eastern Ohio so even a meager amount of moisture will make snow production very efficient. We won’t see any gusty wind like we’ve experienced the last couple of days, but this will be some light fluffy snow and it’ll move around easily.

The ground is also now frozen so any snow that does fall won’t have any trouble sticking. Slick spots will be something to watch for as you head out in the morning.
The next system to bring chances for snow showers will travel through the region during the Thursday – Friday period. This system will also come with another reinforcing shot of arctic air for the weekend. As of today, this next one doesn’t appear to be a huge snow producer but it’s likely to bring an inch or two of fresh snow to the region.
In the meantime, temperatures will remain quite cold through the weekend. We will start to thaw out early next week.

Updates, as always, will be posted here should any changes warrant. Thanks for reading and enjoy your day. – Joe
