Folks in the Tuscarawas Valley received little, if any rain from the severe thunderstorms that rolled through parts of Ohio yesterday. The heaviest storms occurred north of the Valley where several fairly intense thunderstorms developed. Officially at the New Phila airport, we received just enough rain to measure – 0.01″.
Our weather will remain quiet for the next few days. Expect cooler temperatures and slightly less humid conditions today in the wake of a feeble cold front. But the humidity will crank back up on Thursday and Friday. A second, stronger cold front will bring cooler temperatures and much dryer air to the Tuscarawas Valley for the weekend.
Friday will also bring our next best chance for measurable rainfall as the remnant of what was once Debby travels north along the Atlantic Coast. We could see a few showers and maybe even a thunderstorm out of this on Friday but don’t expect much. The bulk of the precipitation from Debby will keep well to our east.
That Debby remnant will allow a cold front to sweep through Ohio Friday night setting us up for fantastic weather over the weekend. Daytime highs on Saturday and Sunday will top out in the mid to upper 70s with nighttime lows in the 50s. It will not only be cooler but dryer as well with dewpoints dropping into the 50s.
