A weak wave of low pressure will cross north of the Valley this morning. Light snow from this system will keep to our north and hug the Lake Erie shoreline. A second wave moving west-to-east can bring a short period of light snow to the east-central Ohio region late this afternoon. While we could see some snow in the Valley during the mid to late afternoon from this disturbance, it wouldn’t be much to speak of.
A strengthening area of low pressure will cross east-central Ohio tonight. Widespread snow showers will spread west to east with this system. Once the snow arrives tonight, light to moderate snowfall will persist in our area through the early morning and daytime hours on Friday. While snowfall rates will not be particularly heavy, snowfall will be fairly consistent.
Air temperatures on Friday won’t warm much more than the mid-20s and surface temperatures remain well below freezing so any snow will have little difficulty sticking and adding up. Snow showers will then taper off and end Friday night as the system exits east of the region.
LOCAL TIMING
While there is a slight chance for light snow this afternoon in some spots, the bulk of accumulating snowfall will occur late tonight. Snow showers begin tapering off after sunset Friday night and end by midnight.

While scattered lake effect snow bands are possible on Saturday, the vast majority of any lake effect snow will stay north of the Valley. I don’t expect any additional snow accumulation in our area on Saturday.
LOCAL SNOW ACCUMULATION
Generally speaking, expect a good three to four inches of snow from this system tonight through Friday night.

IMPACTS
Plan on a slow go due to snow-covered and slippery roads, especially Friday morning and evening. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area through 10:00 am Saturday.
SATURDAY AND BEYOND
Mainly dry but blustery weather conditions are expected on Saturday but Friday’s system will usher in another blast of cold air. Temperatures on Saturday will only reach the upper teens. A breezy northwest wind will make for below-zero wind chills in the morning to around 2° in the afternoon.
A break in winter cold gets underway next week.

Cool thanks joe now i find have to worry about power lines
Thanks for the info Joe!
Is this gonna be a wet snow or dry snow
Good Question, Jon. The air is not quite as cold and dry as it was earlier in the week. So, this snow looks to be just slightly dryer than the normal 10:1 ratio – around 12:1.
So it will not be heavy wet snow
Nope. Pretty much just your normal run-of-the-mill.
Cool thanks joe now i find have to worry about power lines
Thanks, as always, for your insight, Joe!
