Dry weather with mild temperatures will return to the Valley through the weekend. While Saturday may start out with foggy areas in the morning, cloud cover should decrease as we progress through the day. As for temperatures, look for daytime highs hovering around average for mid-November.
Sunday looks to be the pick day of the weekend. High cirrus clouds will provide milky sunshine. Temperatures Sunday afternoon will become quite mild for this time of the year with daytime highs in the upper-50s to near 60°.
A brighter day with mild temperatures sets up on Monday. Some uncertainty enters the forecast on Tuesday as a weakening disturbance moves into the area out of the Southwest. This system may bring rain showers into the region by Tuesday afternoon. However, rain coverage and amounts will depend on how slowly the system can move east through the area. PATTERN CHANGE NEXT WEEK
A strong storm system in the Plains will gather steam and head toward the Great Lakes region by mid week. This storm system will bring colder air into east-central Ohio late in the week.
While the exact placement and track of the low are uncertain at this date, they will bring a significant pattern change to our weather. We will certainly see the mild temperatures go bye-bye.
The most notable shift we’ll see here is the colder temperatures. And, the cold is likely to stick around through Thanksgiving and even into the first few days of December. This does have the support of many of our computer models.
I’ve already seen snow maps being posted on social media regarding the storm. I’ll just say that snow forecasts this far out get plenty of eyeballs and clicks but buyer beware – there are a lot of model runs and model solutions coming yet in the days ahead.
Areas downwind of the Great Lakes could see the first snowflakes of the season. But I’d be cautious of any maps that get into the details of snow predictions this far out. The only factor that has any legs at this point is it’s fairly certain that colder temperatures are likely for next weekend and probably for Thanksgiving as well.
