A weak, slow-moving cold front sliding south through eastern Ohio today will bring scattered showers and storms to the Valley on Monday. While widespread severe thunderstorms are not expected with the front, some of the storms could produce strong downdrafts and heavy rainfall.

The Storm Prediction Center has included all of east-central Ohio in a Level 1, Marginal Risk of severe weather today, mainly during the afternoon and evening timeframe.
In addition to the potential of strong wind gusts, the atmosphere will contain plenty of moisture for storms to tap into. Any thunderstorms today could be slow-movers and heavy rainfall producers. Areas that happen to be under a heavy downpour could see localized flooding.

Thunderstorms will weaken as the front clears the area this evening. Otherwise, it will be warm and humid today ahead of the expected afternoon storms. Temperatures area-wide are expected to reach the upper 80s, with dewpoints in the low 70s.
The front is forecast to stall south of our area along/near the Ohio River on Tuesday and linger there at least through midweek. This will keep the threat of daily showers and thunderstorms going for much of the work week. Temperatures are expected to remain around average (mid-80s) through Friday.
