Our string of pleasant summertime days will continue on Wednesday. Daytime highs will top out around average for this time of the year. The humidity won’t be a factor today as well, with dew points in the upper 50s range.
A light shower/few sprinkles is possible as an upper-level trough of low pressure makes its way across the region during the morning. Skies will, however, become less cloudy as we move toward the afternoon. Gardens and lawns around the area could use a watering at this point, but we’ll be hard-pressed to get much rain locally through Friday morning.

WARMER TEMPERATURES RETURN
So, you know in your heart these really nice summer days wouldn’t stick around. A pattern shift will return hotter temperatures and muggy humidity levels to the Tuscarawas Valley beginning on Friday.

The highest odds of reaching 90° in any of our local communities will be on Sunday and Monday. Generally, we can expect daytime temperatures in the 85° to 90° range through much of next week. We normally see around a dozen days during the summer when the temperature hits at least 90°. We’ve reached 90° or higher 9 days so far in New Phila this season.
On top of the hotter temperatures, the humidity will ramp up as well. While it won’t get as crazy humid as it was toward the end of July, it will turn noticeably muggier over the weekend.

Of course, with the return of moisture, the odds of a stray shower or thunderstorm will increase as well. All indications point to dry weather through the weekend. Look for precipitation chances to return around Tuesday of next week.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to catch up with our local weather. Enjoy the weather. It’s the only weather we have.
Joe, your weather report j7st simply puts all others to shame! Thank you!
Thanks, Toni. I’m just trying to help out my friends and neighbors.
